In the Case of Covid

11”x17” and signed, “In the Case of Covid” is a representation not only of the illness itself but also the impact it has had on all of us. Throughout the picture, you see imaging of the medical field and professionals who have helped us so much throughout this scary time. The woman wears a mask and scrubs and the gas mask shows a Red Cross. The woman has a face of many emotions that we have felt throughout the pandemic: fear, surprise, and concern. Furthermore the skull in the upper portion represents the death of every single individual who lost their battle with Covid 19. The left portion is depicted in red to show the severity of the illness and the fear and anger that most people have felt in relation to Covid 19. The upper right potion was done in a form called pointillism to show how very little we know about this disease. And the main portion was done in colored pencil in a realism style to show that this is our current reality.
